The Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists (MAES) was founded in 1974 in southern California. The objective of MAES was to increase the number of Mexican Americans and other Hispanics in the technical and scientific fields. MAES promotes excellence in engineering, science, and math while cultivating the value of cultural diversity by:
1) Motivating and mentoring students and professionals
2) Assisting students in securing financial aid and employment opportunities
3) Empowering students, parents, and professionals through educational MAES outreach programs
4) Stimulating successful partnerships with the community, government and industry to provide tomorrow's leaders

Today, the organization enjoys a strong but independent network of professional and student chapters. This listserv seeks to unite the many MAES chapters that exist throughout the Paso del Norte region including:

Subscribing to MAES

Subscribe to MAES by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members.

(Note that this is an umbrella list, intended to have only other mailing lists as members. Among other things, this means that your confirmation request will be sent to the `-owner' account for your address.)
